too much fun

oh, halloween. you know you had a good time when you wake up the next morning with glass embedded in your toe, bruises all over your body (including one the size of your entire right ass cheek), and a giant dent/bump in your head. oh, and you also wake up literally screaming in pain because you have a charlie-horse type leg cramp in your right leg which continues to hurt three days later. "been getting some intensive physical exercise, mel?" you may laugh. let's just say that ddr will do that to you.

here is james's halloween story which i'll gladly share with you:
"i woke up with a lingering feeling that i had vomited somewhere. but i didn't know where. i just knew that last night, i threw up. so i got up to go look for the vomit, and when i got to the door, i realized i was standing in it." it's much funnier when he tells it.

this leads me to sunday, when i should have been writing a paper. but i was too tired to do anything other than go to the bathroom.

last night, boy was it time to write that paper on hobbes and rousseau in relation to a bush speech on national security, focusing on the elements of sovereignty, freedom, and equality. jesus christ. honestly, this paper hurts to think about. it was SO BAD. i really don't understand why i still have to write papers. obviously i can write a paper. i went to class. just leave me alone!!!

it goes something like this:
"bush's speech on national security has many hobbesian and rousseau-ian (is that a word??) elements. like, for example, sovereignty. bush thinks that sovereignty comes from the people, so that's like a democracy. only not really exactly, because we don't vote on every law. but close enough. so that's kinda like rousseau, who also thinks that sovereignty should be democracy. actually, i'm not really sure that's true. meanwhile, hobbes, um, thinks that democracy is okay too? maybe? i really don't know. what was this supposed to be about? oh yeah. therefore, sovereignty.
also for some reason, democracy (i mean sovereignty), freedom and equality are the same thing, so i don't have anything else to say. the end!"
